About Henry's Place

The purpose is very simple: Provide an easy-to-use place for Jaycees and supporters to get to know one another to enhance their lives both personally and professionally.

The forum was started in November, 2006 by John Coonen, a marketing consultant in suburban Chicago, Illinois. John is a JCI Senator and past President of a local chapter - Crystal Lake - in 1995. His business is focused on helping run campaigns for non-profits, political leaders and businesses.

With the help of many volunteers, this site will be ever-improving, to provide easier ways for you communicate across boundaries - local, national and international - to empower your success.

Don't blame us. The Creed made us do it.

Our hope at "HP" is that you'll find meaning and purpose here; that you'll truly feel more a part of the brotherhood of man, able to cross man-made international borders (aka "sovereignty") to get to what is IMPORTANT and purposeful in your life; that you'll use the site to make new professional and career connections to conduct free enterprise; that you feel comfortable to speak easily and openly without reproach, yet recall the importance of rules (we really only have one, the "Golden Rule"); that you'll appreciate how amazing the human personality really is, and is embodied in Jaycees new and old; and finally, you'll help spread the fact that while leadership and entrepreneurship is a key component - the "brains" of the Jaycee movement, it is service to humanity that is truly the heart of the organization, ensuring the best work of life can be done alongside our brothers and sisters in Jaycees today.
